NAEYC Position Statements: The NAEYC Position Statements are important tools to inform your practice that build understanding and support for significant issues related to early childhood education.

Core Knowledge and Competency Frameworks (CKCs): The Core Knowledge and Competency Frameworks (CKCs) provides the foundation for all state efforts to improve the lives of young children and their families. are expectations for Connecticut’s child care workforce. They focus on: 

  • Content — what every professional should know 

  • Skills — what every professional should be able to do

 

Lend your voice: Connect with other early childhood professionals in CT through involvement in the Connecticut  AEYC board. Lend your voice to uphold CTAEYC’s mission of empowering professionals working with children and families and stay informed of current state and national early childhood related issues.  

Power to
the Profession

Power to the Profession is a national collaborative that defines the early childhood education profession. It established a framework for career pathways, preparation, competencies, responsibilities, and compensation to achieve continuous public investment and drive the mission that all children can benefit from high-quality early childhood education led by a more effective, diverse, prepared, and compensated workforce.

Follow Power to the Profession

Transforming the Workforce for Children Birth Through Age 8: A Unifying Foundation:  Power to the Profession started as a result of this 2015 report which found that despite the importance placed on educator’s skills, knowledge, and well-being, the compensation and required qualifications varied greatly.
