Staffed Family Child Care Network members gathered in the CTAEYC
office in November for a workshop entitled
"Understanding and Supporting Special Interest in Children with Autism", presented by The Hangout Spot.
Participants learned how to develop special interests into social opportunities
and how to harness the power of special interests to help their students
branch out and explore novel experiences.

Family child care educators in Region 3 gathered for a workshop led by
Jean Barresi about block play and it's importance in early childhood programs.
Attendees left this two hour workshop with not only knowledge about the
Family Child Care Environmental Rating Scale and how to implement more block
play into their days, but also with a kit of blocks and accessories for their programs!

Staffed Family Child Care Members in Region 4 gathered at the Stratford Public Library for a
Block Play workshop.

Creativity and collaboration were in full swing at
the Region 6 Block Play Workshop!
Early childhood educators explored the power of block play to
support learning, problem-solving, and social-emotional growth.
From simple structures to complex creations, every block told a story!
Thank you to all of the family childcare educators who joined us
for a hands-on day of building strong foundations—
for children and educators alike.
Attendees of the workshop left not only with knowledge about incorporating block play into their programs, but also with a full set of blocks and accessories for their own block centers!
Yanerys Aziz is a member of the Staffed Family Child Care Network and sent in these photos and said

"The children at Le Petit Family Daycare in Stratford are having so much fun with their Count & Link Activity toy from the Region 4 Staffed Family Child Care Network! It’s a fantastic way for them to practice counting, linking, and learning numbers through play. A big Thank You for this wonderful and educational gift - the kids love it!" - Marta Lee Chiquito, FCC Educator in Stratford

Rachel Russo, our incredible Staffed Family Child Care Network facilitator for Region 6, mailed out seeds to
family child care educators to celebrate Earth Day — helping little hands learn big lessons about caring for our planet.
A big thank you to Kemesha Reynolds for sharing these
beautiful photos of her children planting their seeds.
It’s inspiring to see the joy, curiosity, and connection to
nature that starts with something so small.

Rainy days are just another reason to play!
Pure joy from Family Child Care educator
Tonya Ohlund at The Clubhouse Family
in Coventry, where every drop sparks a smile.
